We are seeking a skilled and experienced Jamaican Line Cook to prepare and cook traditional Jamaican dishes with precision and authenticity. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Jamaican spices, cooking techniques, and food presentation.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook a variety of Jamaican dishes, including jerk chicken, oxtail, curry goat, and ackee & saltfish.
Ensure food is cooked to the highest standards of taste, quality, and presentation.
Follow recipes and portion control guidelines.
Maintain a clean and organized kitchen workspace.
Monitor inventory and communicate supply needs to management.
Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while collaborating with kitchen staff.
Qualifications & Skills:
Proven experience as a line cook, preferably in a Jamaican or Caribbean restaurant.
Strong knowledge of Jamaican cuisine, ingredients, and cooking methods.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask.
Excellent knife skills and attention to detail.
Food handlers certification (preferred but not required).
Passion for Jamaican culture and food.
