Reservation Clerk Jobs in Washington

A Reservation Clerk in the hospitality service industry is responsible for accepting, managing, and processing all reservation requests for guests in hotels, resorts, or airlines. They handle inquiries regarding services offered, provide detailed information about availability, rates, and facilities, and ensure that all bookings are recorded accurately and efficiently. They also often interact directly with guests to address inquiries, concerns, or complaints. Furthermore, they collaborate with other departments to ensure rooms are prepared upon guest arrival, and payment procedures are handled seamlessly. They play an essential role in guaranteeing excellent customer service and smooth operations within the hospitality business.

Reservation Clerks should have excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and strong organizational capabilities. They must be proficient in using booking and reservation software, as well as basic office tools like spreadsheets and email. Good communication and interpersonal skills are of paramount importance in this role. Knowledge of multiple languages can be a significant advantage for interacting with international guests. Prior experience in a customer-facing role is beneficial, and while there are no strict educational requirements, a high school diploma is usually required, and a degree in hospitality or tourism can be helpful. Previous job roles may include hotel receptionist, customer service representative, or front desk associate.
